As part of our mission at SJ23, annual retreat experiences are required for all grade levels. To further support the retreat program conducted through Campus Ministry, this year our Freshman and Sophomore grade level retreats will be held at a local retreat center, Stoney Creek Ranch. Stoney Creek not only provides a facility that allows for opportunities to encounter Christ, but also has a variety of outdoor sports and activities to foster the building of community. The fee for this retreat will be $50 and covers the cost of breakfast, lunch, transportation, and the use of the retreat facility.
The Freshman Retreat is scheduled for Tuesday, September 26, 2023:
Students must be at school by 6:45 a.m. for a light breakfast.
Attendance will be taken as the buses are boarded.
Departure is at 7:15 a.m., returning to SJ23 at 4:00 p.m.
The dress for the day will be appropriate jeans and SJ23 T-shirts.
All permission forms and retreat fees are due by September 15.
Permission forms can be found in your Magnus parent portal. The fee can be paid through SJ23’s Online Store, accessible via the indicated link or the SJ23 website. If a special meal is required, please contact our Campus Minister, Mrs. Sheri DeMois (sdemois@sj23.org), by September 15.
Your cooperation and support in making this retreat a meaningful and transformative experience for our students is truly appreciated. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the retreat, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. DeMois. We believe that this experience will not only deepen the faith of our freshman class, but also help develop lasting friendships and memories.
St. John XXIII College Preparatory forms the hearts and minds of young men and women in a Christ-centered community dedicated to academic excellence, the pursuit of virtue, and service to others in the Tradition of the Catholic Church.
