Four Lions Sign Letters of Intent for Collegiate Athletics
Four student-athletes from the Class of 2026 signed their Letters of Intent today, February 5, committing to play their respective sports at the collegiate level. These Lions join a distinguished legacy of student-athletes at SJ23. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement, and we wish you continued success in your collegiate careers!
SJ23 Baseball Mitchell Thompson - Ouachita Baptist University Through the first two games of the season, Thompson has emerged as one of the team leaders in runs batted in (RBI). His leadership throughout his SJ23 career has been foundational to our program, and we wish him the best of luck as he joins Ouachita Baptist to compete in the Great American Conference (NCAA).
SJ23 Cross Country/Track and Field Luke Ottosen - Dallas Baptist University With the upcoming track season, Ottosen aims to improve his marks in the 1,600m and 3,200m before heading to Dallas to compete for the Patriots in the Lone Star Conference (NCAA). Ottosen currently ranks fourth in SJ23 program history in the mile with a personal best of 4:38.5.
SJ23 Football Josh Burrus - Bethel College Burrus played a pivotal role in the growth of our football program, fostering both a larger roster and a stronger sense of community this past season. He now looks forward to lacing up his cleats for the Threshers as they compete in the NAIA’s Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
SJ23 Softball Alexa Ramirez - St. Thomas University As mentioned during the signing, Ramirez has played a key role in advancing the softball program to a consistent playoff contender. Leading on the mound, Ramirez and the team look to make one last deep playoff run before she heads to Houston to compete in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference of the NCAA.
