St. John XXIII College Preparatory proudly announces the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2026!
Roman Nguyen and Miguel Vera exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to our mission of forming hearts and minds in a Christ-centered community.
Located in Katy, Texas, SJ23 has been shaping bright futures since 2004. With a faculty comprising over half who hold advanced degrees, our 440 students benefit from a robust academic and spiritual education grounded in the Catholic tradition.
Here is a closer look at our Valedictorian, Roman Nguyen
Roman Nguyen has been named the 2026 Valedictorian of St. John XXIII.
During his four years at St. John XXIII, Roman distinguished himself through academic excellence, leadership, and service. He was a member of the Varsity Swim Team all four years and served as team captain for two years. Roman also participated in the school’s handbell choir for three years and served as a House representative throughout all four years of high school.
Outside of school, Roman dedicated his time to serving as retreat leader for St. Faustina Catholic Church. This fall, Roman will attend The University of Texas at Austin, where he plans to major in Psychology and Biology. He hopes to continue on to medical school and complete a residency program to become a dermatologist.
Here is a closer look at our Salutatorian, Miguel Vera
Miguel Vera has been named the 2026 Salutatorian of St. John XXIII.
Throughout his time at St. John XXIII, Miguel demonstrated strong leadership, dedication, and school spirit both in academics and extracurricular activities. He was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Lions soccer team and also competed on the school’s tennis team for three years.
As Loreto House captain, Miguel played an important role in fostering community and encouraging school spirit among his fellow students. This fall, Miguel will attend The University of Texas at Austin to study Electrical and Computer Engineering.
