The Lions had a successful day at the regional track meet on Wednesday, April 23, earning multiple state qualification spots, two Regional Champion titles, and setting four new school records.
Each year, our incredible Latin students join their peers from around the globe to take on the challenge of the National Latin Exam. This assessment showcases mastery and passion for this timeless language.
The SJ23 Track and Field team faced challenging conditions at The John Cooper School in The Woodlands, TX, on Friday, April 4th, with consistent rain throughout the evening. Undeterred, five Lions rose to the occasion and etched their names into SJ23 history.

The SJ23 Track and Field team kicked off their season with impressive performances at the St. John's Maverick Relay Meet last Friday and Saturday. The meet featured a diverse field of schools from various private school athletic associations. To score points at a track meet, athletes must place in the top eight of their respective events, and SJ23 saw numerous athletes achieve this feat. In addition to two new school records.
The SJ23 soccer team's regional playoff appearance on Thursday, February 27th, against St. Michael's of Austin was a powerful testament to their unwavering spirit. Though the scoreboard reflected a 3-0 result, the game was a true display of their heart, hustle, and the immense pride they brought to the field, representing SJ23 with distinction.
The class of 2024 had many great student-athlete signees; the class itself remains one of the largest groups of SJ23 Lions to continue their sport at the collegiate level. SJ23 hopes all Lions are doing well and having a great freshman year. John Mitchell, a freshman at The Air Force Academy is finding success on the mound for the Falcons.
Today, our Neri House came together for a beautiful Mass.

SJ23 soccer's progress is evident, as both the boys' and girls' teams reached the playoffs for the first time in the same year. In last night's doubleheader, the girls won, and the boys ended their memorable playoff run.
On Wednesday, February 12th, the Lions competed in the 2025 TAPPS State Swim Championships in San Antonio, Texas. They entered the meet after a strong showing at regionals. The team's support for one another made this year's state meet a memorable one.

Twelve student-athletes from the Class of 2025 signed their Letters of Intent today, February 6, committing to play their respective sports at the collegiate level. These Lions join a distinguished legacy of student-athletes at SJ23. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement, and we wish you continued success in your collegiate careers!

In an exciting home matchup against the district's #1 seed, the St. Thomas Eagles, the Lions emerged victorious. With time dwindling down, the Lions needed to rely on unified teamwork to break through the formidable Eagle defense while maintaining their offensive momentum!
The swim team capped off a successful regular season with strong wins and are now poised to make a splash at the Regional Championships. We wish our Lions the best of luck as they strive to qualify for the TAPPS 6A State meet!

Today, the SJ23 staff returned to campus for a morning of reflection. We also enjoyed a scavenger hunt! As we prepare for the spring semester, we are inspired to serve our students and community with hearts ready to give and receive love.
