The Chess Club Annual Tournament

The chess club has certainly "captured" the attention of our lions this year
under the leadership of Sophomore, Joseph Engelking. Over 50 students signed up to be in the club that meets every Thursday!  Yesterday concluded our annual tournament hosted by the library.

Congrats to our champion, Gray Podolak! Joseph Engelking came in 2nd, and after a draw, Blaine McElligott bested Sam Palmisano for the bronze. We would like to thank those who bought and sold raffle tickets because the chess club was able to purchase 10 more boards to meet the demand. We also hosted a Novice tournament for beginners.  Jeffery Cohen came out victorious while Diego Moncada took 2nd and Thomas Docog took 3rd.
