SJ23 Swim Shines at TAPPS East Region Championships
On Saturday, January 24, SJ23 Swim traveled to the University of Houston for the 2026 TAPPS East Region Championships. Even with a strong cold front rolling through, our Lions brought the heat—earning Runner-Up for the boys and an impressive 3rd place finish for the girls!
Senior John Foreman led the charge with a record‑breaking day in the pool, setting two new SJ23 school records in the 100 Free and 100 Breaststroke. Foreman broke his own school record in the 100 Free and added the 100 Breaststroke record—previously set in 2019 by Adam Tate—to his growing list of accomplishments.
To earn automatic qualification for the State Championships, swimmers must place in the top three of their event or relay. Additional qualifiers will be finalized following the upcoming Central (Jan. 27) and North (Jan. 30) Regional Meets.
