SJ23 Track & Field: TAPPS 6A State Meet Recap

The Lions traveled to Waco, Texas, on Thursday, May 1st, for the TAPPS 6A State Track and Field Championships. The Lions had a tremendous weekend, achieving new personal bests and podium finishes. 

Day 1 - Friday - Field Events & 3200m Race 
Day one of the competition saw numerous Lions place in the top six or better in their respective events. Despite weather delays, the Lions maintained their athletic edge and competed with heart and sportsmanship. Official standings from day one are listed below.

Day 2 - Running Finals 
Day two began early, with the first race starting at 9:00 AM. The SJ23 4x100m relay team set a new school record to begin the day. As mentioned in previous articles, this relay team is a young core of determined runners. Their consistent improvement in breaking their own school record each week demonstrates their strong work ethic. Final times from day two are listed below.
