Dr. Larry E. Hill, Jr. is the new head softball coach at St. John XXIII College Preparatory, bringing over six years of softball coaching experience and a 25+ year commitment to faith, character, and academic excellence.
He aims to form Christ-centered scholar-athletes—students who compete with discipline, study with purpose, and live with integrity. A devoted husband and father, Coach Hill’s love for the Messiah and His teachings shapes his approach to coaching, mentoring, and leadership.
Coach Hill has guided athletes ranging from 8 years old to high school, leading teams through championships, setbacks, and every challenge along the way, while always prioritizing growth in both skill and character.
As a professor at two Division I universities, Dr. Hill has taught and trained thousands of students, served on athletic advisory committees that oversee NCAA compliance, recruiting, and athlete support, and led numerous initiatives that strengthened university-community partnerships, creating a mutually beneficial impact.
Coach Hill invites St. John XXIII alumni, families, and the wider community to join a faithful fan base that reflects the fun and competitive nature of Christ and support the student-athletes throughout the upcoming season. Go Lions!
St. John XXIII College Preparatory forms the hearts and minds of young men and women in a Christ-centered community dedicated to academic excellence, the pursuit of virtue, and service to others in the Tradition of the Catholic Church.
