Director of Campus Ministry

Applications are being accepted for the position of Director of Campus Ministry, beginning August 1, 2024. Highest priority is given to candidates with youth ministry experience at the parish or high school level.

St. John XXIII College Preparatory is an independent, co-educational, Catholic high school, located in the western Houston suburb of Katy, Texas.  Founded in 2001, our mission rests on Four Pillars which reflect the papacy of our patron, Pope St. John XXIII.  This is accomplished by forming students into men and women of character, equipping them to be successful in this life through rigorous academic study, and by fostering a love for Christ with an identity rooted in Him.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting and living out the values of the Gospel as taught and proclaimed by the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Taking a significant lead in the work of evangelizing our school community.
  • Cultivating discipleship among students and staff.
  • Overseeing the Works of Mercy service program.
  • Directing grade level retreat experiences.
  • Directing the Kairos Retreat Program.
  • Directing the Quest Retreat Program.
  • Planning faculty and staff retreat experiences.
  • Collaborating with the school’s Chaplain in promoting a regular sacramental and prayer life.
  • Preparing and teaching students to be effective faith leaders in the community.
  • Holding regular office hours to meet with students in need of assistance.
  • Committing to spiritual, personal, and professional growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Catholic Theology.
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing – willing to live the Church’s teachings on faith and morals.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven success in youth ministry at the secondary level in a Catholic parish or high school.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, digital technology, and social media platforms.
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Catholic secondary school teaching experience.
  • Teacher Licensure/Certification, or twelve (12) credit hours in education coursework.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift 20 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.
    • Ability to sit, stand, and/or move around the classroom and campus as needed.
    • Ability to use a keyboard (or an alternative input device) and other office equipment.
    • Ability to read information in printed material and on a computer screen, often for extended periods of time.
     General Information:
    • This position is classified as – Regular Full-Time.
