Cross Country Coach Announcement

Please welcome our new Cross Country Coach Tyler Rohrman.
Coach Rohrman (Tyler Rohrman) Biography

I began running in high school in Quantico, Virginia. My father was a Marine and we were stationed at the Quantico Marine Headquarters Base. Quantico High School was a private school that is part of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA). Respectively in 2012 and 2013, I finished 17th and 16th at the VISAA State Meet. After two seasons at Quantico, my father retired from the military and we moved to Waller, Texas. I graduated from Waller High School (UIL – 5A) in 2016. In 2015, as a senior, I qualified for the UIL Region 3 Cross Country meet.

In 2020, I graduated from Hardin-Simmons University (NCAA Division 3) with my bachelor’s degree in Fitness and Sport Management. While participating in HSU Cross Country/Track and Field under Head Coach, Zack Leggett, I was able to obtain school records in both programs. (Cross Country – 8k / Track & Field - 1mile, 1,000m, 3,000m, 5,000m and the Distance Medley Relay). In addition to earning NCAA Cross Country Southwest Regional Honors in 2019.

In the summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to represent Hardin-Simmons University at the Kajiado County Track and Field Championships in Kajiado, Kenya in the 3,000m event. Kenya was a beautiful country to visit, and the international experience allowed me to learn so much more about the sport from an athlete and coach perspective. Through the years of participation in Cross Country, I have been blessed to meet and obtain life-long friendships with coaches, teammates, and professors.

As of 2022, I am nearing the finish line for my master’s degree in Fitness and Sport Administration from the University of Houston. During my time as a student-athlete I have been fortunate to have had many internships and volunteer opportunities, all at the interscholastic, collegiate, and professional level for coaching and athletic administration. As a coach, one of my top priorities is assuring the students are having fun, working as a team, and are learning from each other. I am grateful and excited to join the Lions family, and to be a part of the Catholic-focused community.
