Announcing the Big Cat Aquatic Team (BCAT)
St. John XXIII College Preparatory (SJ23) is excited to announce the launch of a middle school extension of its award-winning high school swimming program through an affiliation with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) of the United States. BIG CAT AQUATIC TEAM (BCAT) is open to swimmers in grades 6 and up. It is not learn-to-swim or swim lessons, but a program that is open to swimmers of established ability who want a school-focused program with our proven interscholastic coach, Dana Abbott.

- Email us to arrange a tryout: bcat@sj23lions.org Try-outs are at Morton Ranch High School
- Once you pass the tryout evaluation, proceed to steps 2, 3 and 4.
- Type of membership: Select SWIMMING as your sport, Extended Coverage (AB) - $16, 1-Year Term (Current Membership Year - EXPIRES ON 8/31/2022 - $16.00)
- Are you a member of a club? Answer NO
- Who are you registering? Fill in swimmer's name and info, Parent email, Parent phone
- Check off digital signature "I understand and agree..."
- Fill in Parent First name and last name
- Click SUBMIT
- On following page, click on CHECKOUT and CREATE AN ACCOUNT if you do not already have an AAU account, or "CONTINUE AS A GUEST USER"
- After you have opted for the new member or guest pathway, fill out the billing information on the next page and click "Continue" and you should be almost done
4. Select Swim Group here and desired practice schedule AFTER you have successfully passed the tryout. Practices are at Morton Ranch High School.

The Program: BCAT is a registered team with the AAU of the United States and offers participants leading-edge instruction and training in all four competitive strokes. BCAT is focused on TEACHING and INSTRUCTION, not endless laps of training. Technique acquisition is a hallmark of the training methods BCAT employs.
