Parking Spot Painting will take place Friday, September 25th, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, September 26th beginning at 7 a.m. In the event of inclement weather or other complications, a make-up date will be scheduled. The deadline for all design applications is 8 a.m., Monday, September 21st. All applications may be found in the Main Office or by a link in the weekly newsletter.
Rules:
All designs must be approved prior to painting. A copy of your design must be included with the signed application. Clearly draw the design and include the colors you will be using. Your parking spot design must include at least your first name or initials.
The application is available at the Main Office or by the link provided in the weekly newsletter. Students will submit their signed application and design for approval to the Main Office starting September 10th, 2020, and ending 8 a.m., Monday, September 21st, 2020.
You must follow this design exactly on painting day. NO changes allowed.
Students will not be allowed to alter their spots after the assigned painting day.
Students are required to clean their area before painting as well as when they are finished.
DO NOT COVER THE WHITE LINES, FRONT CURB/BUMPER BLOCK OF THE PARKING SPACE. Students must leave 2 inches between the white lines and the design. It is advisable to tape this border off prior to and during painting.
Prohibited Items:
No offensive language, pictures, flags, or symbols. No negative, offensive, or rude language. No “gang-style” tagging. No double meanings. No nicknames, no girlfriend/boyfriend names, etc. (ONLY your own name or initials. Designs must be school appropriate. Disciplinary action may be taken for anything deemed inappropriate and you will forfeit your right to an assigned parking space. The school reserves the right to make all final judgments on what is deemed appropriate. St. John XXIII administration’s decision is final.

NO reflective paint
NO fluorescent paint
NO glitter
NO clearcoat
***ONLY water-based exterior latex paint is allowed and can be found at home improvement, hardware, and paint stores.
Suggested Materials and Tips:
Water-based primer paint/base coat for concrete if desired.
Pick up an application form from the front office, or print one from the link provided in the weekly newsletter.
Fill out the application, signatures, and agreements.
Create your parking spot design on the designated page of your application packet.
Submit your design and signature page to Mr. Oelkers by 8 a.m., Monday, September 21st, 2020.
Once your application and design are approved you will be contacted to choose your parking spot from the available/remaining parking spaces. (First Come, First Serve Basis).
