St. John XXIII students serving the Lake Charles community after Hurricane Laura

St. John XXIII students may earn Works of Mercy hours for serving the families of St. Louis Catholic School in Lake Charles by designing handmade cards called "Messages of Love".
Hurricane Laura was devastating for the Lake Charles area and we would like to help! Many faculty, students, and families of St. Louis Catholic School, located in Lake Charles, suffered great losses. Let's brighten their days with "Messages of Love" to show them that they are not alone. Students may earn Works of Mercy hours for designing homemade cards that will be distributed to the St. Louis Catholic School community. Each beautifully designed card will earn 1/2 hour. Some ideas for your “messages of love” for the victims of Hurricane Laura ...
Reflect on a scripture passage
Give them words of encouragement
Relate to the hardships they might be experiencing
Provide a special prayer of hope
Tell them how you are praying for them
You can use construction paper or scrapbook paper and enclose your note inside. Be creative!! 
Colorful homemade cards are the best!  Please consider sharing this special way of blessing families who are experiencing such hardship.
