Message from Principal Timothy Gallic August 14, 2018
When we are children, a favorite phrase is "Ready or not, here I come!". So for all who read this message who are sending their children to St. John XXIII this week, welcome back, it's good to have you here. We are ready for the 2018-2019 school year to begin.
When a student begins a new school year, even as an upper classman, joyful expectation fills their hearts. It is a time to meet up with old friend who they may not have seen over the summer, at least not without technology, and a chance to make new friendships. For us, the new year represents a challenge to zealously live and teach each of our academic disciplines. Each day will begin with prayer, lunch will be served, topics discussed, skills mastered and on and on. We will strive each day to focus on our mission to prepare the hearts and minds of our students to serve God and others.
The opening of school presents us each year with multiple opportunities to reaffirm our faith as Catholics -- a faith based on the Lord Jesus Christ and on the apostolic teaching of the Church He founded. The Church stands firm, founded by our Lord Himself, and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Our faith and our commitment to the mission of St. John XXIII College Preparatory depends upon the truth that Jesus Christ died for us while we were yet sinners so that we might become children of God.
p.s. Questions, cares, comments or concerns are always welcome.
