Mitchican’s Ordination

All are Invited to Chaplain’s Ordination.

Last spring, St. John XXIII students were able to see Jonathan Mitchican ordained a deacon.
On Wednesday, August 22, at 6:30 pm, Deacon Jonathan will become Father Jonathan as he is ordained to the priesthood at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham in Houston. All SJ23 students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni are welcome and encouraged to attend. A reception will follow. Deacon Jonathan was Assistant Chaplain at SJ23 last year. He will be taking on the role of Chaplain this year, putting him in charge of the liturgical, pastoral, and sacramental life on campus.

Father Jonathan’s first Mass as a Catholic priest will be a Mass of Thanksgiving celebrated at St. John XXIII on Thursday, August 23 at 9:20 am. This will be the all-school Mass for the first full week of school, and students will be required to be in full Mass dress. Parents and alumni are welcome to attend as they are able.
