Lions Defeat Flyers in 28-12 Homecoming Victory

On Friday, October 6, the football team had their best game of the season so far as they defeated the visiting St. Joseph Flyers 28 to 12, winning the Homecoming game for the second year in a row.

Right before kickoff, each member of the team came out of the locker room carrying an American flag on a nine foot pole in what many have described as a moving display.

The Lions scored on the second offensive play of the game on a long run by Mark Lloyd ('18). Later in the first quarter, Ben Turner ('19) also took a long run for a touchdown. After our defense recovered their second turnover of the first half (a fumble), Turner hit Keegan O’Connor ('18) on an eighty-four yard touchdown pass to make it 21-0. The defense played tough all night, led by Tommy Loyd ('19), Alec Sickafoose ('19), Tyler Skinner ('18), and the rest of the Pride defense, holding St Joseph to just two touchdowns.

It was truly a crowd pleasing, great game all around. Great job, Lions!
