Following Governor Abbott’s announcement

March 5, 2021

Following Governor Abbott’s announcement on Wednesday, the TEA issued guidance yesterday regarding the opening of schools, mask requirements, and COVID-19 protocols. Essentially, the TEA has placed these decisions into the hands of local boards of education. As of this morning, neither the Catholic Schools Office, nor the TCCB-ED have issued any revised guidelines. Thus, SJ23, along with all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, have been directed to continue with protocols currently in place.

Be assured that you will be kept informed as this situation evolves.

As Spring Break approaches, some of you may have travel plans. Iso, please be aware:
  • International Travel: Advise attendance@sj23lions.org upon your return to determine any required quarantine for your students.
  • Domestic Travel: Be vigilant in monitoring any symptoms and mindful of close contact situations. Students should be kept at home if they exhibit any sign of illness.
