February 23, 2021 Notification

February 22, 2021
Chair of Saint Peter

Parents, Guardians, and Friends,

Let’s give a round of thanks to our students and teachers for persevering with classes despite many of us dealing with recovery struggles both at home and here at school. We have zigged and zagged all year long with the singular focus on what’s best for our students in the midst of so much uncertainty.
The water remediation crews have been on campus all day today and determined that there is damage to additional areas, including some classrooms. Therefore, we will, unfortunately, have to delay our physical return to campus until Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Those teachers whose classrooms must be temporarily relocated include Mrs. Ayala, Mrs. Entralgo, Mr. Lee, and Coach Richardson. Preparing their temporary spaces will take the rest of today and tomorrow.

The front office and counseling areas will be under repair for at least the next few weeks, and the staff members displaced are now set up in temporary locations around the campus. Students, faculty, parents, and visitors will not be able to enter the academic building through our regular front entrance, although students may enter the building using the entrance next to the teacher’s workroom. If you visit campus, the workroom has been repurposed to receive visitors. We appreciate your patience as we encounter inevitable challenges to our temporary setup.

Tomorrow will be a Crimson Day (ABCD classes). Students will be following the regular bell schedule to login to their classes via Microsoft Teams at the appropriate times. Upon returning to campus, we will be having Lion Pride Dress for students and staff all this week (SJ23 Lions shirt and appropriate jeans with no holes).

For any of you who have been displaced while dealing with storm recovery issues, please know that we will assist you in any way that we can. Should your students temporarily need to attend classes remotely, please contact attendance@sj23lions.org.

Sports team have resumed their practice and competition schedules. Please watch for messages from the coaches regarding these updates. If you want to take in a game, please check the athletic calendar and come out to support your Lions!

Please join me in praying for all the members of our community that have been adversely affected by the storm. Pray also for all the workers putting our campus back together again. God certainly provides for those who trust in Him.

Sincerely in Christ,
Joseph Noonan
Principal
