Principal's Message - Holy Thursday - April 9, 2020

Our prayers are with you!

April
9, 2020
Holy Thursday

Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends,

My prayers are with all of you as we go on dealing with the coronavirus situation.  With our return to campus still scheduled for Monday, May 4, all events and activities remain suspended or cancelled until that date.

Thanks go out to our parents who have assisted their students in coping with this disruption as we end our third week of remote instruction.  We have been able to resolve more process difficulties and will continue to do so.  Please use the Troubleshooting Contact list if you run into problems, or if questions or concerns arise.  We are doing our best to address issues as quickly as we can.

The class schedule for May will not include the exam schedules, other than for Advanced Placement testing.  The last day of class for seniors will be May 15, and for underclassmen, May 22.

Continuing to project into May, some important events have been rescheduled:
  • The Junior Ring Ceremony has been moved to the next school year, during the first full week of school this August.

  • House Prefect speeches and the House elections have likewise been moved, to the last week of August.

  • AP Testing will take place from home. Information has already been sent from the Counseling Office with these details.

  • Senior Sunset has moved back to Friday, May 22.

  • The Prom has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 23. Venue and ticket information will be available when we return to campus on May 4.

  • Graduation has been moved to Saturday, May 30.  Hopefully, the virus situation will allow us to hold our traditional commencement activities.   However, some type of commencement program will be held on this date, in keeping with health and safety requirements in effect at that time.  The same approach will be taken with the Baccalaureate Mass, now rescheduled for Friday, May 29.  Details regarding caps/gowns, etc. will be available soon.
Course registration information for the 2020-21 school year should be distributed to the Juniors late next week from the Counseling Office.  Regarding registration for next year, the "Enrollment Contract" calls for a commitment of 25% of the tuition cost in the event of cancellation.  Because of the current situation, we will waive this 25% tuition forfeiture for anyone who gives a written notice of intent not to attend for the 2020-21 academic year on or before May 31, 2020.  This will provide additional time to judge how the overall economy reacts as we emerge from the virus battle.

Attached is a calendar identifying the essential dates for the 2020-21 school year. Please click here: 2020-21 Calendar.pdf

Tomorrow is Good Friday and it is a holiday from classes, as is Easter Monday.  Best wishes to all of you for a very blessed Triduum and a joyful Easter celebration

We will see you back online Tuesday, April 14.

Yours in Christ,

Joseph Noonan
