Brandon Mouton

Former St. Pius X Head Coach, Brandon Mouton, was recently hired as the NEW St. John’s XXIII Head Boys Basketball Coach by Athletic Director Billy Jackson and Team mid-July 2021. 
Coach Mouton comes to St. John’s XXIII with 2 years of Head Coaching experience at the High School level.  During the 19-20 & 20-21 basketball seasons, Coach Mouton lead the St. Pius X Panthers to back to back 3
rd place standings in District play (TAPPS 6A District 4) earning the Panthers playoff berths and first round byes where he fell short to State Champions Antonian College Preparatory in the second round of playoffs. 
Coach Mouton truly loves coaching the game of basketball and working with youth; he feels it is his purpose and has always said “he would not have made it this far if it wasn’t for the right people supporting me”.  He wants to give youth the same opportunities to shine as others gave me when he was a child.     
He is also the Director of the Richmond-Rosenberg Boys & Girls Club located in Richmond, TX. Mouton received his BS from The University of Texas – at Austin; where he was a standout student-athlete leading his team to the NCAA Final Four in 2003. 
Coach Mouton enjoys spending time with his Beagles, as he competes in AKC Sanctioned Filed Trials and currently has 2 Champions. He currently resides in Houston with his wife Tai and two sons Caden and Langston.

Four-year letter winner and three-year starter, at The University of Texas, who was one of the top scoring wing players in school history ... finished his career ranked eighth on the UT career scoring list (1,582 points) ... tied for third on the school's career games played list, as he saw action in 133 of a possible 134 games ... ranks fourth on the UT career three-point field goal percentage chart (.389) and fifth on the school's career three-pointers made list (198) ... upped his level of play in UT's run to the 2003 Final Four, averaging a team-best 17.8 ppg while hitting 11-of-26 (.423) three-pointers ... named to the 2003 NCAA South Regional All-Tournament team ... earned one of 12 spots on the 2003 USA Basketball Pan American Games Team during the summer prior to his senior campaign ... started all five games for Team USA and ranked second on the team in rebounding (4.2 rpg), third in minutes (24.4 mpg) and sixth in scoring (7.2 ppg) while helping the Americans to a fourth-place showing ... co-team MVP as a junior and senior ... led the Longhorns in scoring as a sophomore and as a senior and ranked second in his junior season. 
Full name is Brandon Prescott Mouton ... son of Joseph Mouton and Gertrude Butler ... born Aug. 18, 1981 in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. ... also lived in North Carolina before moving to Louisiana in eighth grade. 


Kari Rivadeneira

Coach Kari Rivadeneira has been on staff with St. John’s girls’ basketball for the past three years.  Kari comes with not only a love for the game of basketball, but also for mentorship and discipleship. She loves seeing young women reach their potential and grow into a life filled with Christ-like character.
 
Coach Kari has been on staff with St. John’s girls’ basketball for the past three years.  Kari comes with not only a love for the game of basketball, but also for mentorship and discipleship. She loves seeing young women reach their potential and grow into a life filled with Christ-like character.
Kari is married and has two daughters and she and her husband reside in Cypress.  An athlete for life, Kari has participated in marathons, half marathons, and triathlons for years.  
 She played basketball at the collegiate level where her team was ranked second in the nation her sophomore year, and held the national record for home game winning streak at 87. Conference champions, her team reached the NCAA tournament.
Kari graduated summa cum laude with a double major in Health and Wellness and Strength and Conditioning.  She was an academic All-American as well as All-Conference player. While basketball has always been her passion, she has worked as a personal trainer for many years.
