  • Entrance Exams accepted for the 2021-2022 school year: HSPT, ISEE, SSAT
  • Due to COVID-19 and the possibility of a shortage of group testing opportunities, we encourage families to utilize online testing, individual testing centers and testing through their middle schools. All applicants are required to submit one entrance exam score to be considered for admission. St. John XXIII will accept test scores from the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE), High School Placement Test (HSPT), or SSAT for the 2021-2022 application year. Students are welcome to take the ISEE, HSPT, or SSAT at any testing location offered. Virtual testing is offered for all three exams.
  • St. John XXIII will offer the HSPT and ISEE on our campus Saturday January 9, 2021, 8:00 a.m. - Noon and Saturday, January 23, 2021, 8:00 a.m. - Noon. Please make sure you register in advance.  Appropriate links are located on our website.
  • Transfer students are not required to take this exam.


Three teacher recommendations are required for admission consideration.  Print the form and present it to your child's teacher for completion. Forms are located under “Application Forms" on the right-hand side of this page.

High School Placement Test (HSPT) | Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
All ninth grade applicants are required to take the HSPT and/or the ISEE exams.

We offer two levels of academic support. For more information, click here.

We offer academic scholarships based on a specific criterion. These scholarships are based upon St. John XXIII receiving the following: a completed application; entrance exam scores, transcript including first Semester of current year, Teacher Recommendations, and resume including accomplishments, achievements, awards, honors, hobbies, clubs, activities, skills that promote who you are.
To be considered for a scholarship:
  • Submit a completed admissions application;
  • Submit a resume to;
  • Resumes must be received no later than January 31, 2021 for the upcoming fall year.
